Which business should you start with AI? A grid to choose

The best business to start with AI is not the same for everyone: it is the one that fits your time, your budget and your skills, and for which you can talk to clients this very week. This page does not give you a list of ideas. It gives you a grid to fill in yourself, to compare your options and keep one.

Why does a list of 57 ideas not help you choose?

Lists of “profitable” ideas all share the same flaw: they describe markets, not your situation. An excellent idea for someone with twenty hours a week and a network in the restaurant trade may be a bad one for you. And no list can tell you whether clients will pay: only conversations can.

So the right question is not “what is the best idea?” but “which of my options can I test fastest, with what I have?”. The grid below is for that. Allow twenty minutes, a pen, and some honesty.

Step 1: what is your starting profile?

Fill in the middle column. You can type directly into the grey cells (nothing is saved or sent) or copy the table onto a sheet of paper.

CriterionYour answerWhat it implies
Time available per weekLittle time: favour a narrow service offer that can be delivered in a few hours.
Starting budgetSmall budget: rule out anything that needs stock, paid advertising or long development.
Your strongest skillThat is what you sell first. AI covers the rest, not the other way round.
The people you can reach directlyYour first market is there, not on social media.
How long you can last without income from this activityIf the answer is “not long”, keep your job and start on the side.

Step 2: service, product or content?

Almost every business started with AI falls into three families. They do not require the same time, the same money or the same nerves.

ServiceDigital productContent and audience
What you sellYour work: an automation, a website, prospecting, project managementA tool, an app, a ready-to-use templateAn audience’s attention, then an offer
First salePossible as soon as a client says yesAfter building a first versionAfter gathering an audience
Starting budgetLowLow to medium, mostly timeLow, but a lot of consistency
Key skillSelling and deliveringBuilding and getting knownPublishing often, for a long time
Main riskYour time is the limitBuilding something nobody buysLong months with no income at all

If you are a beginner with little time, a service is often the most direct route to a first client, because there is nothing to build before selling. This is not a rule: it is a starting point to check against your grid.

Step 3: the decision grid to fill in

Score up to three ideas. For each line, enter 0 (no), 1 (partly) or 2 (yes). Be strict: an inflated score fools nobody but you.

QuestionIdea AIdea BIdea C
1. I can talk to 10 potential clients this week
2. The problem already costs them time or money
3. I can deliver a first version with my current skills
4. It fits within my available time
5. It fits within my budget
6. I can explain the offer in one sentence
7. I will still want to work on it in six months
Total out of 14

On a phone, swipe the table to the left to see all three columns.

How do you read your result?

The grid does not say the idea will work. It says which one deserves to be tested first. The test itself is described in the method for starting a business with AI.

Which role suits you in a business?

Your idea also depends on what you like doing all day. In Ryze Worlds, each member chooses one of five classes, each matching a real business role:

You can discover your class with the Builder Card: six questions, sixty seconds, no account. It is not a scientific test, it is a starting point to guide your thinking.

Should you buy a “turnkey AI business”?

Be careful. A business is clients who pay. Nobody can deliver those to you in a pack. What is sold under that name is usually a website, templates and a course: tools, not a customer base. Before paying, ask exactly what is delivered, what remains your responsibility, and apply the checklist from the guide income with AI: what works and what is a scam.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best business to start in 2026 as a beginner?

There is no universal answer, and those who give one are selling something. For a beginner, the best choice is a narrow service offer, for people they can reach, on a problem that already costs those people time or money. The grid on this page is there to help you find yours.

I have no particular skill, where do I start?

You probably have one you no longer notice: knowledge of a trade, a sector or a type of client. Start there, and use AI to cover the technical part. If nothing really stands out, first learn one specific skill by practising it on a real case.

How many ideas should you compare?

Two or three are enough. Beyond that, you are comparing instead of acting. Better to test an average idea this week than to look for the perfect idea for three months.

Does my idea have to be original?

No. An offer that already exists proves there are clients. What matters is being more specific than the others: a narrower target, a clearer result, a faster delivery.

Does Ryze Worlds give me a business idea?

No, not a ready-made one. The first stage of the game is called “Find your idea”: the community helps you find an idea that fits your profile and a real need, and the Watcher, the world’s AI, asks you questions. Ryze Worlds promises neither income nor clients.
